Why can't I give app permissions with a restricted Facebook or Instagram asset?
If your Facebook profile is linked to a restricted Facebook or Instagram page, you won't be able to grant permissions to the CommentGuard app. This is due to Meta's platform policies, which prevent restricted assets from connecting with third-party applications.
Unfortunately, this limitation is entirely controlled by Meta, and CommentGuard cannot provide any workaround or exception to this rule. When a page has restrictions applied, Meta blocks it from integrating with external applications as part of their enforcement measures.
To resolve this issue, you have two options:
- Completely unlink your Facebook profile from the restricted asset
- Contact Meta directly to request that they lift the restriction on your page
If you're unsure why your page has restrictions, Meta typically applies these limitations when there have been policy violations or unusual account activity. Addressing the underlying issues with Meta support is often the most effective long-term solution.
