What does the "Mute" action mean?

When you mute a commenter in CommentGuard, all future comments from that specific user will be automatically hidden. This is an internal moderation setting that happens within our app and doesn't directly impact Facebook or Instagram. The commenter won't know they've been muted, and they can still leave comments, but those comments will be automatically hidden from public view.

Muting is different from blocking, which prevents a commenter from leaving any reactions in the future (they won't even see the option to comment under your posts or ads). Blocking is a function that's implemented directly on Facebook or Instagram itself and can be reversed by unblocking the user.

Muting gives you a more subtle way to manage problematic commenters without them knowing they've been restricted, while blocking is a more definitive action that prevents all future engagement.
