Why isn't the tag feature mentioning users on Facebook?

The @ tagging feature in comments sometimes fails to tag a user. It may only appear as plain text on Facebook.

This can happen due to the receiver's privacy settings. They might have settings that prevent tagging.

Another reason is a random failure from Meta. The mentioning feature can be unstable at times.
