Why isn't my own test comment showing up or being moderated?

CommentGuard doesn't process comments from profiles that have a role on your page, like the owner, admins or other people who manage the page. Otherwise CommentGuard would, for example, hide or reply to your own comments.

This means that if you test with your own profile, or with any profile that has a role on the page:

  • the comment won't be moderated, even if it contains one of your hidden keywords
  • automations and agents won't reply to it
  • the comment won't show up in your CommentGuard dashboard

How to test

  • Use a Facebook or Instagram profile that is completely unrelated to the page, with no role on the Facebook page or Instagram account.
  • To check if your moderation filters work, use the playground at the bottom of the Moderation tab. Enter a test comment and you'll see if it would be moderated and which filter was triggered.
  • To check AI replies, use the playground at the bottom of your Agent settings.

Still not working?

If a comment from an unrelated profile isn't handled the way you expect, send us:

  • a screenshot of the comment in your CommentGuard dashboard, or let us know that it's not in your dashboard
  • the URL of the post or ad it was left on

With that we can check whether we received the comment from Meta and what happened to it.
