Does it also work for Instagram comments?

Yes, CommentGuard supports comments on both Facebook and Instagram posts and ads.

Requirements for Instagram

1. It needs to be an Instagram Business Account. Creator and Personal accounts are not supported.
2. Your Instagram Business Account needs to be linked to a Facebook page in Business Manager.
3. Add both the Instagram account and the linked Facebook page to CommentGuard. Some Meta API permissions are shared between Facebook and Instagram, so comments on your Instagram account won't come in if only the Instagram account is added.
4. The Facebook profile you connect to CommentGuard needs full access to the Instagram Business Account in Business Manager.

You don't connect Instagram separately. When you click "Login with Facebook" you go through Meta's permission flow, and one of the steps asks which Instagram Business Accounts you want to use with CommentGuard. After that, add the Instagram account and its linked Facebook page from the "Add new page" dropdown menu.

Instagram limitations

Because of restrictions in Instagram's API:

• Comments on ads using a page-backed Instagram account (PBIA) won't be imported. This happens if you run an ad with a Facebook Page identity instead of an Instagram account. To fix this, select your Instagram account as the identity when creating the ad in Ads Manager.
• The Instagram API doesn't support liking comments from third-party tools, so you'll need to do this directly on Instagram.
• Blocking Instagram commenters isn't available in CommentGuard and must be done on Instagram itself. You can use Mute instead, which auto-hides all future comments from that user.
• Instagram's API doesn't tell us if a comment contains an image. See the "Hide images" section in How to setup automated comment moderation?.

We continuously monitor Instagram's API updates and will implement additional features as soon as they become available.
